Well, it's happened again...

Grandpa has moved back to Delta. He went to visit this weekend and was able to find a temporary job so he's moved in with one of Dennis' siblings for now. He's also hoping to find a job at a local fast food place so this may be a permenant move back. (though it's possible he'll be back again within a few months) Honestly though, the biggest reason he chose to accept this temporary job and move back is to be closer to grandma. He feels that she's been glad to see him the last couple of times he's come down and it's given him hope that they can mend things up. I really think he's seeing things that aren't there and getting his hopes up but at the same time I hope he's right so he's not disappointed again. And if he's able to find a permanant job that would be wonderful! Although he'd just gotten a lead on a possible job here in town that would most likely pay more than fast food but he feels this is the right decision for him.

My only problem though with him moving in and out is Charity. She got so attached to grandpa when he moved in the first time and then had a hard time adjusting to his absence after he moved out. Charity doesn't yet realize he's moved out, she knows he came and left today but doesn't understand. She was just starting to get it sorted out when he moved back in. I really hope I'm able to help her cope better this time. When he first moved back in she sort of kept her distance and wasn't nearly as social with him as she had been before and she's just started to get really attached to him again so it could be rough. But this upcoming week or weekend we may go for a visit to my parents since my best friend had her baby last week! (no guarantees mom and dad! It's only a maybe!) So that might help her out and then in a couple of weeks we leave for our big trip so maybe if I am able to keep her busy enough she'll do better. Sorry I may have to neglect blogging for a while though. So if you don't hear from me, that is why. Oh and I never did get around to posting pictures so I'll try to do that within the next few days!

Our Weekend in Review

Where to start? Well, I guess friday morning is a good place :) Danielle had her 9-month Well Child Checkup on friday. She was 27 1/4" and weighed 15lbs 13oz. She's slowly been going down percentiles her whole life so the doctor wants us to take her back in for a weight check in 6 weeks instead of waiting until a year. My poor tiny girl. I think she actually put on more weight from 6-9 months than Charity did (9 months has also been her lowest percentile age) but I don't know how much she weighed at 4 months or 6 months! I didn't write it down anywhere and I can't remember :( so if I told anyone and you happen to remember, feel free to clue me in! lol. The rest of that day was rather uneventful. I was suppose to take Charity around to deliver her Valentine's but I never got around to... still haven't, oops! Maybe that would be a good activity for today!!!

On Valentine's Day, Dennis (along with help from his Dad! lol) blew up a bunch of balloons and he left them all over the living room floor. He also had got some colored paper and cut out some hearts and left them laying all over as well. Charity was so cute! For the last few family home evenings we've had heart cut outs as part of the lesson. So Saturday morning, she picks up a heart, hands it to Dennis, picks up another heart, hands it to me, then picks one up for herself and tells us it's time for Family Home Evening! LOL, such a cute girl! Dennis and I went out to the movies in the afternoon. We finally got to see Mall Cop and I really liked it! I'd recommend seeing that one! And then for dinner I had picked up a couple of Papa Murphy's heart shaped pizzas and we had a candlelight pizza dinner! It was nice. The day was hard for his dad though but he seemed to get through it ok.

Sunday Charity again didn't want to go to church because she didn't want to go to class. I stayed with her for a few minutes until she was playing nicely and then told her I was going to leave now. She about threw a fit and wanted to leave with me but I told her that she could have a sucker and some ice cream after church if stayed and was nice about it (Yes, sometimes I am NOT above bribery!) Well, she stayed and did great although she's still telling us she hates nursery :( I'm just not sure how to get through to her that it's a good thing. We're hoping that we're atleast over this by the end of the year for sunbeams!

Well, Charity is in the process of destroying a puzzle box so I guess I'd better go try to rescue it. I've got some pictures I wanted to post but I'll have to do that later!

True Love

So I was thinking the other day of what we could do to include the girls in Valentine's Day or what we could do to teach them about it and I started thinking about how many different ideas about love there are out there and so I figued we'd maybe do a family home evening around Valentine's Day on love and different types of love.

I want to let them know how Mommy and Daddy loved each other so much that they wanted to share that love so they're the ultimate expression of our love for each other. I want to be able to express to them now and in the years to come how much I love them, no matter what and that I hope they are always able to know that and to feel our love for them.

But then that also got me thinking about Dennis' and our love for each other. How much it's changed and matured over the last 7 years. Yes, I think we started out with that infatuation love where we just couldn't spend enough time together and one thing that I really love is that that has never changed. We still never can seem to spend enough time together. I've heard people talk about how years into marriage they need their alone time and time seperate from each other and while we each have seperate interests and he has guy friends and I have girl friends that we like to spend time with occassionally we still want to spend time with each other more.

At an Institute class one time (I don't remember which class) the teacher said something along the lines of that any two good LDS people could get married and make the marriage work if they wanted to because they'd have the same ideals and goals in this life. And I have to admit that I mostly agree with that. My friend Sam started argueing that there has to be some sense of attraction so they went back and forth for like 10 mins, it was pretty funny. And while I believe there are some people who have that soul mate out there, not everyone has a soul mate but they have several options that would still work out in the end. Does that make any sense? I hope that comes across right but anyway where I was going with that was that I don't know if Dennis and I knew eachother before this life, I don't know if we came to this earth knowing we were meant to find each other or not but I DO KNOW that we are meant to be together.

McDonalds

So, I have always pretty much disliked McDonald's and only recently (this last summer) started going there to take Charity for ice cream and to play sometimes. But recently I've decided the employees are going to start knowing me by name! lol. Let's see, I went there today for a birthday part for one of Charity's friends, we went last week for a birthday party for one of Charity's friends, we went the week before while Grandma and Grandpa were here, then we went the week before tha. t for a playgroup. Oh and then we're suppose to go AGAIN this week for another play group! lol. I gotta admit, I'm actually starting to like their hamburgers.

It is really nice though, especially in this cold weather, to have somewhere we can go that the kids can play and us adults can just sit and chat. So, yeah, this McDonald's hater has been turned to the dark side. Oh and right now they've got these cute dog toys from that new movie Dog's Hotel - I think Charity might get quite a few :)
